As a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to my readers, VeggieConverter and KitchenAid are giving away this amazing KitchenAid 5-Speed Hand Blender Set, a $130 value. This blender is incredible. The first day I got it, I was able to make chard pesto completely with this machine! I chopped the walnuts and the Parmesan cheese with the chopper and then blended the entire recipe with the blender attachment in the jar! It was soooo much easier than breaking out my food processor! And it was just as delicious and creamy as food-processed pesto. Love it.

Happy Holidays and good luck! Enter to win through the PunchTab widget. Contest ends at noon EST Dec. 17!

About KitchenAid

Seriously an amazing company. They are incredible to work with (remember the awesome Pasta Attachment Giveaway!). And they’re stand mixers amazing. If you don’t have one, go put it on your wishlist. Seriously, now. You never know when someone will be looking for something awesome to get you, and a high quality stand mixer is the key to a whole food lifestyle. It’s the beginning of being able to make everything from scratch. Without one, I’d be really cranky.

Here, you can put this beautiful red one or your Amazon wishlist: KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red. Is it bad that I want it even though I already have a silver one? It’s like a new car for a foodie. :) Or maybe like new shoes for a girlie girl.

How does the KitchenAid hand blender fare?

Everything I’ve ever used from KitchenAid is amazing and well-crafted. This hand blender masterpiece is no different. I had a stick blender, but it’s nothing like this one. It’s pretty much the standard one, no attachments. This one, this one comes with a suitcase! A suitcase of attachments. KitchenAid 5-speed Immersion Blender. It’s an estimated value of $130; but I noticed it’s on Amazon this week for $90! If you don’t win, I’d totally snap that up (or heck, go ahead and get one and hope you win a spare for family or friends’ Christmas presents.

The blender itself is amazing. I’ve made chard pesto and peanut butter stuffed potatoes (recipes to come) and done many other quick blending tasks (whisked eggs, blended up fruit and yogurt for popsicles). And I absolutely LOVE it. It’s so easy and it’s a lot less hooplah than dragging out the food processor. The whisk is genius. I can whip up eggs with ease and my arm doesn’t get worn out. And that 4-cup jar is awesome for smoothies and popsicles.

It comes with the main, removable stainless steel blending arm to use in your own cookware or with the included BPA-free pitcher with no-splash lid—Stainless Steel S-Blade/Multipurpose/ Frother Beater Bell Blade Assemblies,Whisk and 2 1/2-Cup BPA-free Chopper Attachments. It has a five-speed DC motor and 8-inch removable blending arm, so you can blend, puree, chop, shred, mince, froth, mix, and whisk all with this tiny contraption. Amazing. The frother is so cool, I can’t wait to make my coconut milk whipped cream with it!
