It’s time to share your Sunday Brunch (and breakfast and lunch) recipes! This is a diner favorite that a lot of the meat-eaters in my family enjoy, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, this one without the sausage.
Vegetarian Biscuits and Gravy
2 1/4 C Bisquick
2/3 C Milk
Mix and bake according to package directions for 9 biscuits. Or, be more awesome than me and make your own from scratch!
1 C liquids (use milk for half for creamier gravy)
about 1/4 C flour
1/2 pound equivalent of ground beef substitute
House Seasoning (kosher salt, pepper, garlic powder) to taste
Preheat your oven to 350 and mix up the biscuits. Meanwhile, put liquids and “beef” in a saucepan and heat over medium. Add flour and seasoning, whisk smooth. Bake biscuits at 350 for about 9 minutes. Cut biscuits in half and pour gravy over the biscuits. Serve.
This is so delicious. Subtle, simple seasoning (why I didn’t use “sausage”) and a creamy gravy over easy biscuits. I loved it and so did our toddler.
