My dad loves to make fudge. But his recipe calls for a microwave, which we don’t own. So, I searched around for a good recipe that doesn’t use a microwave. Alas, I wasn’t satisfied, so I made my own.
Enjoy the chocolates of my labor with this easy peppermint fudge recipe. We split this pan into quarters and pass these yummy treats out as Christmas gifts for our mailman, bus driver, teachers and neighbors.
It’s so yummy and super fast! So you can get those folks still on your Christmas list even at the last minute. Enjoy. This recipe doesn’t require any evaporated milk or a microwave!
Easy Peppermint Fudge Recipe
Makes one 8 x 8 pan
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
Place first three ingredients in a small saucepan and heat over medium-low until the butter is melted, stirring frequently. Heat for a few more minutes, or until sugar is dissolved.
Add a piece of parchment paper to an 8 x 8 glass baking pan and preheat your oven or toaster oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add melted ingredients and chocolate chips to dish and dish.
Drop in essential oils and stir again. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes, stirring a few times during this time, until the chocolate chips are melted.
Cool overnight in the refrigerator. Cut into 1-inch squares. Freeze to harden up the rest of the way and distribute (or eat). These make great gifts! And they’re delicious. Go ahead and make a double batch, you won’t be sorry!
