I made my own little pocket skin protection balm wonder sticks and I named them Boom Sticks in homage to the Boomstick from Army of Darkness. That baby can knock back some Deadites, so I figure it’s gonna be handy to keep our skin above the ole’ wellness line with a protective layer. BOOM!
All right, you primitive screw-heads, listen up! See this? This… is my boomstick! – [continuing nonchalantly] – It’s a twelve-gauge, double-barreled Remington. S-Mart’s top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That’s right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about $109.95. It’s got a walnut stock, cobalt-blue steel, and a hair trigger. That’s right… shop smart: shop S-Mart… Ya got that?!
Now I swear, the next one of you primates even touches me… [yells, shoots at the pit Deadite, then shoots again]
So, I pulled out the big guns in this recipe. It’s got it all. I pulled in the family favorite for all things smearable, Animal Scents Ointment. Plus the DIY classic beauty, shea butter, and three essential oils: Thieves blend, copaiba essential oil and (brace yourselves!) HELICHRYSUM! Oh yeah, the big girl herself. She’s a beaut. You can check out more about where I get my essential oils HERE.
I had been carrying around an oil blend of those three oils and then smearing either Rose or Animal Scents ointment on top of whatever area I was keeping protected, but that’s just not nearly as convenient as these handy little Boom Sticks! I <3 them so much.
So here’s what we do. To make about four 1/4 ounce lip balm tubes of boomstickery, mix up 1/4 ounce of shea butter, 3/4 ounces of Animal Scents ointment, plus the oils. Then we melt it all in the double boiler before letting it cool a bit, adding the oils and pouring it into the tubes to cool the rest of the way.
