Homemade applesauce is stupid easy. I mean, seriously. I know, I know. You hear that a lot on the internet or see it on Pinterest or whatever and you’re like, yeah, right… But, really. Homemade applesauce is like, the easiest thing to make. I used to make it all the time when the girls were […]
Apple chips are surprisingly tasty (we tried a sample in Whole Food the other day) and the kids go crazy for them. But, the store-bought variety is a little spendy for our regular budget. So, when I got our beautiful L’Equip Dehydrator (don’t forget you have until Sunday to enter to win your own!), apple chips are one of the first things we tried.
This week’s cravings: Summer Salads. I’m sharing Vegan Coconut Whipped Cream Mixed Berry Fruit Salad.
Today is National Pie Day and our This Week’s Cravings theme is Homemade Pies. I’ve gone to my pie wheelhouse today to make one of my husband’s favorites, pear pie. He is inexplicably not a fan of apple pie, but a huge fan of pears, so pear pie is what I always make when I’m […]
Day 365. I made it! 365 days of meals for our entire blended-eater family to enjoy together. And for our final converted meal of the year, we’ve chosen an easy breakfast of homemade whole food CrockPot applesauce. This is not only a delicious breakfast, but also a great way to keep applesauce on-hand in single […]

Quesadillas are a pretty sure-fire meal in our house, so it seemed a good option with which to test the Apple-Chicken combo. I replaced the chicken with chickpeas. I received Gypsy peppers […]
Day 255. Today I have a Halloween treat, Spooky Apple Pizza. Can you tell I’m totally into Fall already? This is an excellent use for all those delicious apples, with or without the spooky spiderweb topping. And yes, it has cheddar cheese. It’s a Southern thing I didn’t entirely understand when we first moved here. […]
Day 233. Today was definitely another “Thank goodness I have food in the freezer,” kind of day. I don’t know about you, but we seem to need to take a vacation from our vacation and then take another week to get back into all of our routines whenever we get home. Top that off with […]
Day 200. Our CSA box had a pound of yellow plums in it recently. I’ve never had yellow plums before and my first instinct was to treat it like other plums, add some sugar and create some dessert out of it. But after googling yellow plums, I found some yummy-sounding sweet and savory salad recipes. […]
