Brussels-Sprouts

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE brussels sprouts? I’ve hated the tiny cabbages all my life because I’ve only been served boiled or steamed brussels sprouts. Who knew the secret to bringing out their tasty, tasty flavor was so simple!?

All I do know is bring out their fantastic caramel flavor by roasting them in a baking pan for about 45 minutes with coconut oil, Kosher salt and garlic. Done. And freaking delicious! I could eat the whole pound. Seriously. And my daughter loves them, too. Yum! She calls them “Candy Cabbages.” Cutie. 🙂

If you think you hate these little tiny cabbage gems, think again! And if you think you needn’t bother to try them again, check out how amazingly good brussels sprouts are for you. I hope you enjoy this Roasted Brussel Sprouts recipe as much as we do!

Eat up.

Caramelized Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients

1 pound brussels sprouts
1/4 cup coconut oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
kosher salt

Method

Preheat oven to 450. Mix ingredients in a baking dish.’

Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Devour delicious candy brussels sprouts. Yum.

Update: we seriously eat these at least twice a month now. It’s so good. We also have found that you can get similar caramelization by pan-frying in coconut or avocado oil. Just add a touch of salt when they’re done and you’ve got a great side for just about any meal. We are brussels sprout superfans. We’ve even converted friends and friends’ children to the glory that is the almighty brussels sprout. Brilliant. I hope you learn to love it as much as we do!
