Homemade Cream for Irritated, Dry Skin | @VeggieConverter

Irritated, dry skin and other sensitive skin conditions tend to run in my family.

I developed this homemade skin cream based on two of our favorites from Homemade Mommy and The Elliott Homestead. The pure coconut oil was too strong for Bug’s skin (super healing crisis action) so we cut it with shea butter like Elliott Homestead uses. It’s perfect for Bug (and her cousins) so I hope your kids love it, too!

Essential oils have absolutely changed our lives. The $150 we spent to get started with a kit has been saved many times over now with the products we’re able to make at home and the pills I get to avoid taking. I’m absolutely in love with them. Homemade Irritated, Dry Skin Cream

Ingredients

1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup shea butter
25 drops Melrose essential oil (Buy it HERE)
25 drops Lavender essential oil (Buy it HERE)

Method

In a stand mixer, combine coconut oil and shea butter. Whip on high until fully combined and slightly fluffy. Add essential oils.

Rub over irritated, dry skin twice daily.

Don’t have a stand mixer? No problem! Add coconut oil and shea butter to a glass jar. Bring a pan of water to a boil and set jar in it. Stir frequently to melt oils. Let it cool a bit and stir in essential oils.  Let cool before use.
