If you’re looking to convert to vegetarianism one day a week or permanently, you may need to purchase a handy guidebook if you get serious about the conversion. While Amazon is my go-to site for most online shopping, there are a multitude of other sites out there.
Become.com is a shopping site, which is sort of an amalgamation of other shopping sites. On the main landing page of the site, you can choose whether to shop or research the product. I think that’s actually pretty neat.
Put in something like, vegetarian cookbook and click shop and you get http://www.become.com/vegetarian-cookbook. That will take you to a list of products on other sites, like textbook.com and Amazon.com.
Say you want to remodel your kitchen and cannot decide on a sink. Search stainless steel kitchen sink. If you click on shop, you’ll land at: http://home-and-garden.become.com/stainless-steel-kitchen-sink and see a ton of options. If you click research instead, you will land at: http://www.become.com/research?q=stainless+steel+kitchen+sink and be able to view articles about installation and the like.
Another result you could find via shop is kitchen pantry cabinet: http://home-and-garden.become.com/kitchen-pantry-cabinet . The site reminds me a lot of TheFind.com, which has been one of my recent favorites. It’s a little messy and it’s a lot of information to wade through for something small like a cookbook, but if you want to go all-out for a kitchen remodel or perhaps buy something like a stand-mixer, this site would be a great starting point.
In the interest of full disclosure, I was asked to review the site, http://www.become.com . I did not find the site on my own; however, the opinions are my own and an honest representation to the best of my knowledge.
